Andrew Chami (NSERC USRA Undergraduate Student)
Current: Research Assistant at Li Lab UofT
Andrew began working at the Didar lab as a 3rd year project student working under the supervision of Noor Abu Jarad to begin the development of a new project in collaboration with Dr. Slavcev and Dr. Hosseinidoust to develop biomaterials incorporating genetically engineered phage for biomedical applications. He continued his work over the summer as an undergraduate NSERC student and is continuing to lead his own project in his undergraduate thesis. Outside of the lab, Andrew leads the iGEM McMaster research group, a team of undergraduate students that compete at the international genetic engineering machinery competition (iGEM). Andrew has published two manuscripts in the past for microbial biosensors and surface-modifications of biomedical devices for anti-thrombotic applications. In his free time, Andrew likes to rock climb, cook, and spend time with his friends.
