Research Team

Derin (she/her) is currently pursuing a BHSc in the Honours Biochemistry Biomedical Research Specialization Co-op Program. She originally joined the lab in the Spring of 2024 as a Wet Lab Lead for McMaster’s iGEM team. She kept her connection to the lab while serving as the iGEM 2025 Co-President, during which she was completing her co-op as a Medical Associate at Operatic Agency. She then went on to complete her undergraduate thesis focusing on microbots and phage therapy for infection control. Derin is now a lab assistant co-op student where she aids in lab management while continuing her research.
